Duplex Stainless Steel

Duplex Stainless Steel

Product Introduction

Duplex Stainless Steel combines the properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, providing high strength together with excellent corrosion resistance. Common grades include Duplex 2205 and Super Duplex 2507, which offer strong resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Duplex steel is suitable for demanding environments involving chlorides, seawater, chemicals, and high mechanical loads. It is widely used in oil & gas, chemical processing, marine, desalination, petrochemical, and power industries. Various product forms, dimensions, surface finishes, and processing options are available according to project requirements.

FAQS

1. What is duplex stainless steel?

Duplex stainless steel is a stainless steel family with a mixed austenitic-ferritic microstructure, combining high mechanical strength with excellent corrosion resistance.

2. What are the most common duplex stainless steel grades?

The most widely used grades include Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803/S32205) and Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750). Other duplex grades can also be supplied according to project requirements.

3. What is the difference between Duplex 2205 and Super Duplex 2507?

2205 provides an excellent balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and cost for many industrial applications. 2507 Super Duplex contains higher levels of alloying elements and provides enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride environments for more demanding applications.

4. What product forms are available?

Queen Metal can supply duplex stainless steel in various forms, including sheet, plate, coil, pipe, tube, bar, fittings, and flanges, depending on the specific grade and production requirements.

5. Can duplex stainless steel products be customized?

Yes. Queen Metal can provide customized grades, product forms, dimensions, lengths, surface finishes, heat treatment, cutting, machining, welding, and other processing according to drawings and project requirements.
